-Granular Activated Carbon Filters (GAC) are well-known for efficiently reducing chemical compounds, foul tastes, and smells from water. These filters remove and reduce organic and industrial chemicals that seep into water sources and through plumbing. All Ronaqua GAC filters are made with high quality coconut shell carbon crushed into positively charged granules. The positively charged granules in the filter remove negative ions from the water, such as: chlorine, fluorides, ozone, and dissolved organic solutes, effectively providing good general-purpose drinking water.
-These filters are constructed to allow water to enter in one end and pass through the entire length of the carbon bed before exiting through the other end of the cartridge, while an internal expansion pad minimizes channeling or bypass before the water exits the cartridge.
-What is Granular Activated Carbon? This is a type of charcoal that has miniscule pores that absorbs organic compounds as it allows water to pass through it.
